Variational AI will take part in BIONATION 2026, hosted by BIOTECanada at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa on September 22, 2026.
BIONATION is where Canada’s biotechnology and life sciences leaders meet policymakers, elected officials, investors, and ecosystem partners. This year’s program covers what it takes to build biotechnology companies in Canada, how AI is moving from promise to practical advantage, the mobilization of institutional capital for life sciences, and where Canadian biotech fits within the emerging dual-use innovation agenda. The 2026 Gold Leaf Awards ceremony takes place the same evening.
The discussion will address how AI is being applied in Canadian life sciences today, and what conditions are needed for Canadian companies to build globally competitive platforms rather than exporting their science. Variational AI is Canada’s only independent generative small-molecule platform, and works with partners including Merck/MSD.
